About Karen
Karen has a Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) degree completed at Western Sydney University and is a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers and Child Protection Practitioners Association of QLD.
Karen has a background in counselling, working in the drug and alcohol sector, and has spent 10 years working in the child protection jurisdictions in New South Wales and Queensland. She is well considered in the area of child protection assessments and completing Social Assessment Reports for the Children’s Court as well as Family Reports for the Federal Circuit and Family Court. Karen’s focus is on providing holistic assessments and quality reports that achieve positive outcomes for children and their families. Karen’s experience in working with vulnerable families who have experienced domestic/family violence, mental health instability, substance misuse, homelessness and trauma (including intergenerational trauma) is extensive. Given this experience, Karen is able to quickly identify and make achievable recommendations to support children and families rebuild their lives.
